Torstad GårdTorstad Gård is located close to the shipping fairway in the small village Torstad in Nærøy municipality. It has traces of iron age settlements. Torstad is situated 25 km from Kolvereid and 17 km from Rørvik. The house for rent belongs to a farm located some 50 m away. The house is an old so-called "Trønderlån", fully restored to meet modern requirements, yet kept in an oldish style with nice warm colours. |

Accomodation and facilities
The building was first rented out in 1998. It consists of two apartments, each with its own entrance. Each apartment consists of kitchen, living room, bathroom, hallway, and three bedrooms. In each bedroom you will find two beds, but there is space for three if needed.
The size of the bathroom is approx. 10 square meters; it has heating elements embedded in the floor, toilet, shower, and a washing machine.
The living room has i.a. TV with parabolic antenna. The kitchen is fully equipped, with electric kitchen range, fridge, coffee machine, deep freezer, and a stove for burning wood. A bigger deep freezer is available in an "outhouse" nearby.
Surrounding the house is a great recreational area with outdoor furniture and a great view towards the shipping fairway, where about 40 000 ships pass every year on their voyage northwards and southwards along the coast.

Boat rental: 250 kr per 24 hrs.
Farm holiday
At the farm we keep sheep, goats, hens of different colours, dog, cats, and Shetland ponies.
We also have an enclosure where children can watch the animals.
Activities and Fishing
We have boats available for rent as follows: Three aluminium boats and one plastic boat, all within the range 16 to 18 feet, as well as engines 15 to 30 hp.
Near the sea we have our own boat house, accessible by motor car. Here you will find facilities for processing fish, and fresh running water.
If you want silence and relaxation, this is the place. A perfect spot for for enjoying late summer evenings and sunsets.
If needed, we can also offer bigger boats for longer and more demanding fishing expeditions.
Fresh water fishing is possible as well as hunting and trekking in nearby mountains.
Enjoy fresh clean air and the rugged coastal landscape.
Other things to do
Storvatnet bathing beach is 3 km away (also suitable for the disabled). In Ottersøy, 6 km from Torstad, you find a golf course and grocery store. A 2 km walk along a path will get you to the potholes. The nearest airport is in Rørvik, 20 km from Torstad.
By car it will take you 20 minutes to reach Rørvik, this small and quiet coastal town, with lots of different shops , cafes, and an exceptional regional coastal museum.
In summertime we recommend a trip to the unique old fishing station "Sør-Gjæslingan", which is owned by the regional coastal museum.
